Your project is unique. A highly detailed set of plans is a crucial component to ensuring that your ideas and visions are transformed into a finished product that not only meets but exceeds your expectations. Our software can take the technical drawings and details needed for construction and translate them into a 3D space that allows you to easily visualize your design

before we even begin. This helps plan the project down to even the smallest of details.

Prior to any design, we schedule an on-site meeting. For new construction this meeting would be completed on-site if the land has already been purchased. During the on-site meeting, we will discuss goals, needs, and wants. We will also get in to discussing general materials and finishes. The final part of the meeting is spent taking detailed measurements and notes to aid not only in design but getting an accurate scope and proposal.

The Hockberger Homes design process is broken into three phases that build upon each other.Conceptual Design, Design Development, and Final Design. Our goal is to make the process enjoyable,educational, and at the end give you a completed set of plans ready for building your vision.

Conceptual Design

The conceptual design is a schematic or basic design. This is where we take all your ideas and put them down on paper to start organizing them into a layout that makes sense, is functional, beautiful, and

cost-effective based on any existing conditions. By the end conceptual design, we have a basic 2D layout, several 3D views and renderings, and hopefully a solid layout.

Design Development

Design development is where we start selecting materials including interior finishes and products such as windows, doors, fixtures, appliances, etc. More specificity and detail are added to the drawings, and any engineering that is needed will commence. Additional plans and elevations as needed for

construction are created as well.

Final Design

Final design is where the construction documents are created. Technical construction details are added, project specifications are written, and engineering is completed. The plans are now ready for bidding, permitting, and construction.

Once final designs are completed, a copy of the documents is sent directly to you for review as well as out to our trade partners for bidding. Once all bids have been received, we review them for accuracy and completeness before putting together a final proposal.
